Happy Birthday Bekah

Happy Birthday, Bekah.

On Friday our “baby” turned 8 and we had a very nice day together. It was the first time in 4 years that Grandma was able to be with us on Bekah’s special day. The morning was spent in school and then we all went out for a chicken finger and fries lunch at the Snack Shack… the best chicken fingers in all of Durham!

I think the theme for Bekah’s gifts were “Game Day”. Big Brother Nathan gave her “Clue” and we also got her Phase 10 dice. We have Mrs. Farmer to thank for that suggestion as she got the kids hooked on that game this summer when we stayed at her home. She received some sidewalk chalk, crayons, and “Color Explosion” from Grandma. Uncle John gave her the book and DVD of “Dreamer”…Great Movie!! And John and I gave her a bag of miscellaneous goodies including chapstick, perler bead pegboards, a kids bible study book on the names of God (yes, she requested that) and her favorite gift…a pocket knife with “Rebecca” on it. Sorry wrong spelling but we tried! Anyway, the pocket knife came with rules (verbal) included!

The afternoon was spent with friends making bead projects and concluded with friends at the Friday night “grill” where we cooked up some marinated Teriyaki chicken…one of Bekah’s favorites.

We thank God for our beautiful little girl and the heart she has for people. She has a tender heart for spiritual truth and we are excited to see where God will lead her in the future.
