The Meyers Family and Mom
We've been back for almost a week and we're all adjusting well to having Julie's mom here with us. We're enjoying great weather and it's been good to see many of our classmates after our summer break.
Next Monday, August 28th, we all head back to school and classes begin. The kids are glad to be back and spending time with their friends...enjoying their last few days of "freedom".
During Jungle Camp I memorized Romans 12:10-18. "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love, give preference to one another in honor." Verse 10 has been a constant reminder as to my thoughts towards those around me. It's so easy for us to find "issues" with those around us, however, it's a bit more challenging to be devoted to one another in brotherly love, giving preference to one another...in honor (no less). It's not merely challenging, but impossible in our own strength. Only through the power of Christ in me can this be accomplished. I am constantly reminded of that fact, because my tendency is to give preference and honor to myself, not others. I am so thankful that God has given us His word. It is pure and holy. Before studying this passage, I was struggling with contentment, however, this passage has refreshed my thinking and as one of our teachers always says, "Right thinking = right attitude = right action!" Have a great week everyone and we'll send another update soon.
