Daily Routine

Orientation is now officially over and classes will begin on Tuesday. We will have a Day of Prayer on Monday. This is a time when we all come together and lift up New Tribes Missionaries in prayer.

We’re almost completely settled in. The single students can’t imagine that it takes a family 2 or 3 weeks to get settled here! I guess it’s all in perspective. We're sure for many of you it took 2 to 3 months before all is unpacked. For some, it may even take years.

Some may ask, “What’s your daily routine like?” Well, we wake up between 6 and 6:30 (kids by 7:00 a.m.) and we get ready and head off to class at 8. Classes go until noon with a 1/2 hour break (for both the kids and adults) at 10 a.m. At 12:00 we all come home and eat lunch. We’ve set this time aside as “family time” and do not allow the kids to go out and play until 2 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they go back to school at 1p.m. for a couple of extra classes (PE and Bible).

At 1:30 p.m. John heads out to PTC (Personal Training Class) where he helps with all the other students to do various projects around the campus. Some include construction, while others are routine maintenance. This is a time where students can acquire some practical field training. Mothers are not required to participate since they are home taking care of the children. There are scheduled times for sports twice a week so we can get out and be with our classmates outside of class. Some are co-ed and others are not. Julie’s looking forward to volleyball on Tuesdays and John has been enjoying playing soccer a couple times a week.

If any of you would like more information about New Tribes Mission and the training program, we’d love to talk with you. As most of you know, we took a short term trip to Mexico this summer and we’ll be sharing bits and pieces of our trip in the next couple of messages.

Dear John & Julie:

This site is a great idea and we look forward to keeping up to date on your lives and your progress. We can also pray more effectively.

In Christian Love,
Ron and Bert Harper

Dear Julie & John,

What a blessing to read of your daily routine & know what is going on in your lives. Obviously the love of God is uppermost in your lives and HE is preparing you for great things.

It was great to see you briefly while you were in Jackson.

God Bless You!
