Warm reception

Hello Everyone,

We’re in Canada. We can’t express how great it is to begin this next phase of training. Many of you have been praying for us and a smooth transition and we must tell you that we are so thankful for your prayer support.

We arrived on Saturday, August 20 and have received such a warm welcome by the staff. Some have helped with meals, others with getting us settled in and it has been such a blessing.

We all began classes last Monday (the 29th) and all are doing well. Rachel seems to have the heaviest homework load of us all! The kids have met other children around their age and are enjoying the beautiful 107 acre campus. Their bikes are getting great use (not only by them, but by us at times). There's also a beautiful lake that Nathan and Bekah have been enjoying. Nathan even passed the "swimming test" and can now swim in the lake as long as he has another "buddy" with him. He was pretty happy about that.

We’ve adjusted pretty well to life without indoor plumbing, but the cold weather hasn’t really hit yet, so we’re sure that will be tested even more throughout the year. Within the first 24 hours of our arrival, 3 different families offered us a “Porti Potty”. No, not the kind our kids used in potty training, but the kind campers use. We never even thought of it, but decided to take someone up on their free offer before we would have to go out and buy one. We’re saving the use of it for winter time!
